Cowboys Win, Daily Show Top Thursday Social Rankings

By Steve Safran

It was roughing the passer, OK? Can we just agree on that?

For those who didn’t watch, late in the fourth quarter, on a two-point conversion play that would have tied the Cowboys-Vikings game at 17, there was a non-call. (Your faithful correspondent is not a fan of either team, FYI.) Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Cedric Thornton hit Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford in the face. Look:

Alas, the refs didn’t call the penalty, the pass went incomplete, and the Cowboys walked away with the 17-15 win, to go 11-1 – the best record in the NFL. The close game meant plenty of social media chatter, and the game won Thursday night’s Nielsen Social Content Ratings.

On the non-sports side, in the “Series and Specials” category, a surprise showing by The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. It had Chelsea Handler as its guest. However, the show from the night before has had a lot of social media play. Trevor had a spirited exchange with Tomi Laren from The Blaze. Regardless of your politics, I suggest watching it. It is what respectful and lively debate should look like.
