Bravo Goes All Out for Below Deck Mediterranean Premiere

By Karen Fratti on May. 3, 2016 - 12:57 PMComment

To kick off the new series Below Deck Mediterranean’s premiere tonight, Bravo is taking fans under the sea. On Snapchat, at least. On Tuesday and Wednesday, fans can create Snaps using the Below Deck Lens. On May 17, there will be a special social episode of the reality TV show, which follows crew members of a chartered yacht in Greece, and fans’ Snaps will be shared on-air.

The special social edition is new thing for both networks—it’s one of the first times that Snapchat has been used an “added integration” to a show in this way, according to Bravo Media.

In addition to the Snapchat Lens, fans in New York can catch “yachties” filling up the water fountain outside of 1251 Avenue of the Americas with special messages in bottles. Fans can grab them for prizes and info about the series. Bravo will be encouraging fans to use a #Below Deck Sweepstakes hashtag on Twitter and Snapchat to talk about dream vacations and enter for a chance to win their dream vacation, on Bravo. The winner till be announced during Tuesday’s premiere.

Bravo tends to go all out to drive tune-in when it comes to premieres and between a Snapchat Lens, sweepstakes, and publicity stunts in the Big Apple, it looks like Below Deck is getting the full treatment.
