Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, The Walking Dead) stars in American Gigolo, debuting Sept. 9 on Showtime. A re-imagining of the 1980 Paul Schrader film, the eight-episode series follows Julian Kaye, who is released from jail after being wrongfully convicted and serving a 15 year sentence. Julian becomes a sex worker, while Detective Sunday (Rosie O’Donnell) seeks the truth behind the murder that sent Julian to prison. American Gigolo will premiere on streaming and on demand for Showtime subscribers, then debut on-air Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes will drop every Friday on streaming and on demand before airing Sunday nights.
The cast includes Gretchen Mol, Lizzie Brocheré, Gabriel LaBelle, Leland Orser, Richard Stratton, Wayne Brady, Alex Fernandez, Sandrine Holt, Yolonda Ross and Melora Walters. Nikki Toscano serves as showrunner.
The Handmaid’s Tale returns for a fifth season on Hulu Sept. 14 with new episodes streaming every Wednesday. While June (Elisabeth Moss) faces the consequences for killing Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes), Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) works to raise her profile in Toronto.
The Most Hated Man on The Internet premieres July 27 on Netflix. The 3-part docuseries focuses on Hunter Moore, King of Revenge Porn, who founded IsAnyoneUp.com, a revenge porn hub that posted nude photos of men and women without their consent. The series will highlight one mother’s fight against Moore, after posting pictures of her daughter on his website.
Secret Headquarters comes to Paramount+ August 12. Charlie (Walter Scobell) discovers a secret superhero’s headquarters under his home, uncovering his father’s secret identity. When Charlie’s dad runs into trouble, it’s up to Charlie and his friends to save the world.
