A&E turns to user submissions for ‘Bates Motel’ title sequence

A&E and producer Carlton Cuse are launching a interesting content related to the network’s new drama  series “Bates Motel.” Visitors to the show’s Facebook page will be able to submit their concept for a title sequence for the series, which is based on the classic film “Psycho.”

The winner of the contest gets $2,500 and the chance to have their title sequence idea become the title sequence on the show when it debuts next year. Users will be required to submit a 15-second video to participate.

“We want to give fans the chance to participate in the show,” said Cuse in a statement. “We’re looking for an awesome fifteen-second title sequence that captures the feel of Bates Motel — not as a slasher/horror show, but as a complex, character-based thriller.”
