At NAB last week, TV app company 24i showcased three new TV Everywhere and OTT solutions that will help it attract new U.S. customers. 24i recently raised $2 million from Newion Investments specifically to expand beyond Europe.
The three new offerings are AppCore, which allows for fast TV app distribution, Smart Apps, custom app solutions for each client , and Smart Operator, a uniform TV Everywhere solution across devices.
“We’ve built a strong international reputation for bringing the very best screen experience to TV viewers no matter where they’re watching,” said 24i CEO Martijn Van Horssen. “With the U.S. market’s rich culture of TV technology and innovation, we’re pleased to be showcasing our next-level technology at the ground-breaking NAB Show as a grand introduction to this marketplace.”
24i was a “2012 Deloitte Rising Star” and has built multiplatform TV apps in Europe for companies like FOX Sports, Videoland, RTL, Pathé and HBO.
Still, the TV Everywhere and OTT solutions competition in the U.S. is stiff, with players like Adobe, Kaltura, Ooyala, Brightcove, MLB Advanced Media, and Grabyo already claiming a large share of clients.
