Most kids dream of being professional athletes at some point but if they met Cory Bernstine, they might dream a little differently. With a career spanning sports, Cory Bernstine went from throwing fastballs to helping transform Minor League Baseball to a commercial, marketing, and media agency for their 100 plus teams. Now he’s driving the business forward at the United Soccer League, the fastest growing and largest professional soccer league in North America.

But he doesn’t just leave it all on the field—Cory is also an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida, where he has reimagined the traditional classroom experience for his lucky students. Fueled by his time at grad school with Dr. Richard Lapchick, the ‘racial conscience of sport’ and one of the most historic human rights activists, Cory has learned to drive forward social justice work both in his day job and with his students.

In this episode, Cory gives us a lesson on building a new function in a legacy organization, why he loves swinging for a challenger brand, his advice from his mentor Kenny Mitchell, CMO of Snap, and how he’s applying all of these principles to affect change through his work.

Dive in for a masterclass in swinging for the fences with a focus on leaving impact on what really matters.
