Last year, Marvel Entertainment and Sony Pictures announced their plans to shoot a new Spider-Man movie. Zendaya (pictured, via) has been cast in the Spider-Man reboot.
According to Deadline, rumors have been spinning that Zendaya “will play a character named Michelle. Nobody is providing details on whether this is the romantic lead opposite Peter Parker, but it doesn’t sound like it.”
Traditionally, Spider-Man’s love interests have been limited to Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy. According to The Wrap, the executives have already hired Tom Holland to portray Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spider-Man).
The theatrical release date has been set for July 28, 2017. (via hypable)
