Writing about Woodstock

By Jason Boog

petefornatale.jpgAs the historic Woodstock music festival turned 40 this year, one author worked hard to archive memories of the event–turning up some unexpected facts while building his oral history.

“Tim Russert was on my list of people to interview for my book about Woodstock because he attended,” explained DJ and author Pete Fornatale (pictured, via Jeff Fasano). “He was there in his Buffalo Bills sweatshirt back in 1969. Unfortunately, before I got the chance to reach out to him, he was gone.”

Fornatale–a long time fixture on New York City radio–was the special guest on the Morning Media Menu today–talking about his new book, “Back to the Garden: The Story of Woodstock.” Click here to listen to the whole show.
