A trailer has been unleashed for Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise. This project marks the first time that a feature documentary was made profiling the late poet who passed away in 2014.

In 2015, Bob Hercules, Rita Coburn Whack, and their team of filmmakers launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter and raised over $153,000 for this film. The Chicago Tribune reports that Hercules and Whack served as the co-directors.

The video embedded above features appearances from Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the 42nd President Bill Clinton, and media mogul Oprah Winfrey. According to Deadline, the release date has been scheduled for October 14.
