Thursday is Read for the Record Day

By Dianna Dilworth

Jumpstart is running its annual campaign #ReadfortheRecord on October 27, a national effort that encourages young kids and their caretakers to come together and read.

The effort is aimed at addresses education disparities in some communities that leave many kids unprepared for kindergarten. This year’s featured book is The Bear At Your Sandwich by Julia Sarcone-Roach. Young readers across the country are called to pick up the book and read.

Brightly, Penguin Random House’s website dedicated to building literacy, has created a playlist for YouTube Kids to support the campaign. The Awesome Stories Starring Animals! will feature videos about The Bear Ate Your Sandwich.
