The CW may create a television series based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel, The Notebook. The story follows the romantic trials and tribulations of two characters named Allie and Noah.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sparks, Theresa Park, and Todd Graff will serve as executive producers. Graff will also work on writing the script.
Entertainment Weekly reports that “the CW will probably omit the story’s tear-jerker framing device—which has an elderly version of the couple, with Allie having been stricken with Alzheimer’s.” Back in 2004, fans of Sparks’ fiction whipped out their handkerchiefs for a popular film adaptation starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.
