simon23.jpgToday Simon & Schuster announced that Joyce Andes, the company’s vice president of contracts, is retiring. She will be replaced by Jeff Wilson, the executive director of contracts at S&S.

Wilson has served in his current role since 2002. He joined the department as an assistant 1986. Here’s more from the official memo from S&S senior VP Elisa M. Rivlin: “Reporting to Jeff will be Steve Fallert, Janice Potter, Stephanie Hawkins, Kathleen Nolan, Lourdes Lopez, and our new Contract Director (effective June 7), Kasey Poserina … Jeff will continue his current responsibilities for Free Press and Scribner and also take on responsibility for the Simon & Schuster imprint.”

In addition, the memo announced some reorganization among contracts staff. Fallert now will supervise contracts for Gallery, Threshold and Pocket Books imprints (including Star Trek). Lopez has gained some new responsibilities besides her work with Atria contracts–adding Beyond Words and Strebor imprints to her workload. Finally, Poserina will now supervise contracts for Touchstone Fireside, Howard Books and audio.

Andes has served in her position since 1991. She joined the department in 1981 as a contracts administrator. Here’s more from Rivlin’s memo: “Joyce has made the understandable and enviable decision to go out at the top of her game, and to take time for herself and her husband (along with relocating to the shores of Maryland) to pursue her other interests.”
