S.J. Kincaid has signed a six-figure deal with Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. She (pictured, via) plans to write a stand-alone young adult thriller entitled The Diabolic.
Publisher Justin Chanda negotiated the agreement with Waxman Leavell literary agent Holly Root. Chanda will edit the manuscript. The publication date has been set for Fall 2016.
Here’s more from the press release: “The book revolves around a genetically created teenager named Nemesis. She is what’s known as a Diabolic, thought to be a soulless killing machine. Nemesis was created to protect an heiress to the Galactic Senate, but when the Emperor summons this heiress to his court to serve as a hostage and pawn, Nemesis is sent in her stead.”
