Republic Records will release a soundtrack for Mitch Albom’s forthcoming novel, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto. Albom collaborated with Ingrid Michaelson, Mat Kearney, Sawyer Fredericks, and Phredley Brown to write a number of original songs.
According to Albom’s announcement, “the track list will include other fan favorites that are featured in the novel. Many musicians and bands make special cameos in Frankie’s Forrest Gump–like romp through 20th century music, from current artists like Ingrid Michaelson, Tony Bennett, Lyle Lovett, Darlene Love, Paul Stanley, Burt Bacharach, Wynton Marsalis, Roger McGuinn, and John Pizzarelli to the late greats like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Hank Williams, Frank Sinatra, Marcus Belgrave, The Everly Brothers, and Django Reinhardt.”
This CD will come out on November 6. The book will follow on on Nov. 10.
