‘Princess Bride’ Actor Cary Elwes Inks Book Deal

25476_378710957431_3253711_nActor Cary Elwes has landed a deal with Simon & Schuster’s Touchstone imprint to pen a book about his memories making The Princess Bride movie. A publication date for As You Wish: Tales From the Princess Bride has been scheduled for Fall 2014.

Elwes plans to include behind-the-scenes stories, photos, and interviews with fellow cast mates Billy Crystal and Robin Wright. Filmmaker Rob Reiner, who directed the 1987 film adaptation, will write a forward. Senior editor Matthew Benjamin negotiated the deal with Folio Literary agent Katherine Latshaw.

Elwes became inspired to create this project after reuniting with the cast during a celebration of the movie’s 25th anniversary. He had this statement in the release: “It was a joy to work on such a magical film with an amazing cast of talented actors and friends. It will be great fun to revisit The Princess Bride and to share my fond memories of the unforgettable experience we all had.”
