Penguin Young Readers to Publish a Dragons Love Tacos Sequel

By Maryann Yin

Dragons Love Tacos Cover (GalleyCat)Author Adam Rubin and illustrator Daniel Salmieri will reunite for a sequel to their bestselling 2012 picture book, Dragons Love Tacos. Dial Books for Young Readers, a Penguin Young Readers imprint, has set the publication date for May 2017.

Lauri Hornik, the president of the imprint, negotiated the agreement Jennifer Joel, a partner and literary agent at ICM Partners,  and Rebecca Sherman, a literary agent at Writers House. Kate Harrison, an executive editor, will edit the manuscript.

Here’s more from the press release: “In Dragons Love Tacos Robbie learns a valuable lesson about what happens when you accidentally give dragons some tacos with spicy smooth salsa (hint, lots of fire and burnt houses!). In Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel, something devastating has occurred—all the tacos have been eaten. Rather than living in a taco-less universe, Robbie and his trusty dog decide to fire up their time machine in the garage so they can travel back in time when tacos weren’t extinct. The result is a gut-bustlingly hilarious adventure.”
