Penguin Random House gave away 100,000 books in 3 days as part of its #GiveaBook campaign, which kicked off on Giving Tuesday.
The publisher invited readers to claim up to five books for their hometown as part of a 50,000 book giveaway. After the publisher gave away all of these books on day one, they upped their donation to 100,000 books. The books were distributed through First Book, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing literacy in low-income families.
To keep up the momentum, Penguin Random House is matching donations to First Book and tripling them through the end of the year.
