Ngugi wa Thiong’o Expected to Win 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature

Gambling site Ladbrokes expects Kenyan writer Ngugi wa Thiong’o to win the Nobel Prize for Literature this year, with 4/1 odds in his favor.

Japanese author Haruki Murakami is second on the list with 5/1 odds. Syrian poet Adunis is also being considered with 7/1 odds from Ladbrokes. American author Philip Roth and Norwegian playwright Jon Fosse both made the list with 12/1 odds.

The Swedish Academy doesn’t make public who they are considering, but they will reveal the winner on October 13th. The shortlist won’t be revealed until 50 years from now in 2066.
