New Harry Potter Play to Serve as the Eighth Story of the Series

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Art (GalleyCat)J.K. Rowling has made an announcement regarding the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play over at the Pottermore website. She revealed that this project will serve as the eighth story of her beloved book series.

Here’s an excerpt from the synopsis: “While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”

The plot of this two-part theatrical production takes readers nineteen years after the events of the Battle of Hogwarts. An opening date for this London-based show has been set for July 2016. Follow this link to watch a video that features newly unveiled artwork. (via Entertainment Weekly)
