Can you picture The Most Powerful Man in the Universe teaming up with a group of superhero felines? DC Entertainment and Mattel are teaming up to publish the He-Man/ThunderCats crossover comic series.
Here’s more from the press release: “In his eternal desire to destroy the mighty ThunderCats, the evil Mumm-Ra quests for a weapon that can rival the legendary Sword of Omens: He-Man’s Sword of Power! But his dimension-spanning scheme launches a cataclysmic crisis that will, for the first time ever, unite Lion-O, Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro, WilyKit and WilyKat with He-Man, Battlecat, Teela, Man-At-Arms and the rest of the Masters of the Universe.”
Rob David, the head writer at Mattel, and Lloyd Goldfine, the supervising producer, will collaborate to write the story. Freddie E. Williams II, the artist behind the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series, will serve as the artist on this project. The first installment of this six-part miniseries will be released on October 5.
