National Book Award Winners for 2010

GalleyCat prowled the floor of the National Book Awards last night. eBookNewser editor Dianna Dilworth interviewed NBA winner Patti Smith (on writing discipline), NBA judge Samuel Ray Delany (on Harry Potter), and with finalists Walter Dean Myers (on collaboration with a teen fan) and Megan K. Stack (on keeping a journal).

Fiction winner: Jaimy Gordon, Lord of Misrule (McPherson & Co.)
Nonfiction winner: Patti Smith, Just Kids (Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollinsPublishers)
Poetry: Terrance Hayes, Lighthead (Penguin Books)
Young People’s Literature: Kathryn Erskine, Mockingbird
