NaNoWriMo Tip #2: Use the Reference Desk

By Jason Boog

As you begin your National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) manuscript, the research phase can be overwhelming. At the NaNoWriMo Reference Desk, you can get quick answers to your research questions from other writers.

The page already contains hundreds of topics, ranging from Quantum Physics to “I’m an expert in…” posts to popular TV shows from the 70’s.

Here’s more about the reference desk, from the discussion board’s rules: ” Requests for facts and/or figures … Requests for anecdotes. These could be stories about firsts, about things children have said, and/or about experiences people have had … Requests for stories and/or help with fantastic creatures  … Requests for help with languages and/or dialects.”

This is our second NaNoWriMo Tip of the Day. As writers around the country join the writing marathon this month, we will share one piece of advice or writing tool to help you cope with this daunting project.
