Michael Haggen Appointed Chief Academic Officer at Scholastic

Michael Haggen has been promoted to Chief Academic Officer for Scholastic Education.

In his new role, Haggen will use his experience as a former senior school district administrator to help Scholastic Education create products that support educators and improve student learning. He will focus on developing instructional materials for literacy achievement, support materials for teachers, and community initiatives. His goal is to align Scholastic’s product offerings to the specific needs of pre-K to grade 12 districts nationwide. Haggen will be based in New York and will report to Greg Worrell, President of Scholastic Education.

Haggen first joined Scholastic last summer as the National Consultant for School Transformation Services. He has also worked on product research and validation programs for Scholastic Education. He will continue to lead the Research and Validation Department for the publisher.

Prior to joining Scholastic, Haggen worked in education for more than 20 years. His most recent post was as Deputy Superintendent in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
