Meghann Foye Inks Deal With Harlequin

By Maryann Yin

Meternity (GalleyCat)Meghann Foye, a web editor at Redbook magazine, has signed a deal with the Harlequin imprint, MIRA Books. She plans to write her debut novel, Meternity.

Nicole Brebner, an executive editor, and Emma Parry, a literary agent at Janklow & Nesbit Associates, negotiated this deal. Kathy Sagan, an editor-at-large, will edit the manuscript. The publication date has been scheduled for May 16.

Here’s more from the press release: “The quirky novel follows Liz, an overworked New York City magazine editor, who finds herself faking a pregnancy to carve out some ‘me time’ when her stress-related nausea is mistaken for morning sickness. Having worked a gazillion hours a week picking up the slack for coworkers with kids, Liz seizes this opportunity to straighten out her life with paid time off. But will she be able to keep up the charade, rocking a foam-rubber belly by day and dumping the bump for karaoke and boozy dinners out by night?”
