Maria McFarland Sánchez-Moreno, co-director of Human Rights Watch’s US program, has inked a book deal with Nation Books.
In the book, There Are No Dead Here, McFarland chronicles “the rise of the paramilitaries in Colombia and the epic waves of almost unspeakable violence they unleashed on the population, giving voice to the constant fear and the inspiring courage of everyday Colombians…” told through three main characters: an activist, a journalist and an investigator.
Larry Weissman at Larry Weissman Literary (World) sold the book to Alessandra Bastagli at Nation Books for an undisclosed sum.
