Lost Roald Dahl Poem Uncovered

By Maryann Yin

roalddahlA long-lost poem written by Roald Dahl has been uncovered. It was found in an old desk back in 2012 at the Primate Dixon Primary School in Coalisland, Ireland.

BBC reports that a male student from the school wrote to Dahl in 1988 after reading Danny, the Champion of the World. The beloved children’s books author replied by crafting the poem in his reply letter.

According to The Irish News, the poem was put on display at the school on September 13. That day marked what would have been Dahl’s 100th birthday. The tweet embedded below features the poem in its entirety. (via mental_floss)
