John Lennon’s Imagine to be Published as a Picture Book

Imagine Picture Book (GalleyCat)Clarion Books, an imprint at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, will publish the North American edition of Imagine. This picture book will feature lyrics from John Lennon’s famous song and illustrations by Jean Jullien.

Here’s more from the press release: “John Lennon was a founding member of The Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of pop music. In 1970, he embarked on a solo career. ‘Imagine,’ released in 1971, which Lennon composed in one session sitting at his piano, is just twenty-two lines long but has become a worldwide anthem of unity and hope.” The video embedded below features a music video for Lennon’s beloved track.

The story in this picture book stars a pigeon who goes on a journey to advocate for peace. The publishing house will work with the Amnesty International organization on this project. The release date has been scheduled to take place on September 21, 2017 (the International Day of Peace).
