Jeff Bridges has signed on for a role in the Kingsman sequel, The Golden Circle. In the past, the Oscar-winning actor (pictured, via) has starred in a number of book-based movies such as The Little Prince, The Giver, and Iron Man.
Entertainment Weekly reports that in the new project, the Kingsman spies will be partnering up “with their American counterparts, The Statesman, to take down a new villain.” The story comes from Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ comic book series, The Secret Service. The first film adaptation was released back in 2015 and became a box office hit.
According to Deadline, Bridges announced his casting with posts on his social media pages. Some of the other new actors who have also joined the cast include Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore, and Pedro Pascal. Returning cast members include Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, and Sophie Cookson.
