J.K. Rowling surprised a group of readers in Scotland this week when she showed up after being invited to their book club via Twitter.
Orkney Library tweeted about its book club meeting for March 5 telling followers that they’d be discussing The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka Rowling).
Rowling responded to the tweet that it sounded like fun and got into a discussion over Twitter about the weather and the cake they’d be serving.

The so-called Saturday Slaughters were pretty surprised when she actually showed up. After the discussion, she checked out a book.
