IDW Publishing and CBS Consumer Products have established a new partnership. The publisher announced plans to release the Star Trek: Boldly Go comic series.
This new project was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek; the first episode of The Original Series television show aired back in 1966. The first issue of Boldly Go will come out in October 2016.
Here’s more from the press release: “Star Trek: Boldly Go will reunite the fan-favorite Trek team of Mike Johnson and Tony Shasteen on writing and art duties, respectively, and will succeed the currently running Star Trek series which will conclude after 60 universe-expanding issues, penned primarily under Johnson’s watch. Boldly Go will follow the events of Star Trek Beyond, the latest major motion picture in the ongoing cinematic saga.”
