How To Copy, Paste & Share Your Kindle Highlights

By Jason Boog

Over the weekend, Kindle users noticed Amazon’s quietly launched social network.  Back in February, we published a quick tutorial about how to use this basic network on your Kindle–below, we’ve listed five easy steps to copy, paste, and print your highlights and notes from inside Kindle eBooks.

Amazon has been building a number of social networking tools into the Kindle, including public profiles and the ability to share highlights with other readers. These new tools also make it easy to share, copy, and paste your notes.

1. On your desktop, smartphone, or tablet computer browser, go to Amazon’s Your Highlights section. If you can’t see your highlights and notes, be sure to sign into your personal account.

2. This section will list all the passages and notes you have highlighted in your Kindle book. Scroll through the page until you find the book you are looking for.

3. Copy the section and paste it wherever you want–a Word document, a blog post, or an email to a friend.

4. Visit the Your Books section to adjust your privacy settings, rate your books, and search for notes on individual Kindle books.

5. If you want to get really fancy, set up your public profile on Amazon. Then you can choose to share your notes and highlights on books with other readers. Follow this link to visit this editor’s public account (complete with selected notes).
