Helen Fielding announced plans to write a new Bridget Jones novel. Up until now, she has written and published three installments: Bridget Jones’s Diary (1996), Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (1999), and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (2013).
Here’s more from BBC News: “The most recent book, Mad About The Boy, came out in 2013 and revealed Bridget had married Mark Darcy and had produced two children – but Darcy was killed off in the interim between the second and third books. Publisher Jonathan Cape said the new book would be set after the events in 1999’s The Edge of Reason but before Mad About The Boy.”
The Guardian reports that fans of this character can look forward to finding out how she tackles motherhood with both the forthcoming new movie and new novel. The newest Bridget Jones movie, called Bridget Jones’s Baby, will hit theaters on September 16. Fielding’s new book, entitled Bridget Jones’s Baby: The Diaries, will be released on October 11.
