Sales of Harry Potter books have more than doubled in the past year since Bloomsbury released the illustrated version of The Philosopher’s Stone.

So far 1.1 million copies of the new title have been sold, the publisher reported today. Across the series, sales have increased by 133 percent in the year that ended Feb. 29.

“Bloomsbury has had a very good year with strong revenue and book sales growth, including a significant increase in digital sales,” said Nigel Newton, chief executive of Bloomsbury. “In particular, our children’s and educational division delivered an exceptional performance, with its third year of double-digit revenue growth.”

An illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is slated for publication within the next year.
