Many Game of Thrones viewers have voiced complaints about a controversial story line that was introduced in the sixth episode of season five. Variety.com reports that these fans feel upset because this plot point deviates from the one featured in the A Song of Ice and Fire series.
As a result of this outrage, George R.R. Martin has received numerous angry emails and messages. The epic fantasy author wrote a post to address this issue on his blog.
Here’s an excerpt from Martin’s response piece: “Prose and television have different strengths, different weaknesses, different requirements. David and Dan and Bryan and HBO are trying to make the best television series that they can. And over here I am trying to write the best novels that I can. And yes, more and more, they differ.
