Emma Watson has named Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi as the June 2016 pick for Our Shared Shelf. Satrapi’s autobiographical graphic novel was originally published in France; Pantheon published an English translation omnibus (which contains all four installments) in 2007.

Satrapi’s deceptively simple, almost whimsical drawings belie the seriousness and rich complexity of her story–but it’s also very funny too.”
