Emma Watson’s Feminist Book Club to Read a Carrie Brownstein Memoir

Carrie Brownstein Memoir (GalleyCat)Emma Watson conducted a poll to pick out the July/August 2016 read for the Our Shared Shelf book club. The group chose Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl: A Memoir by Carrie Brownstein.

The winning title received 763 votes. Some of the other contenders included Mom & Me & Mom by Maya Angelou, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume, and Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson.

In the past, this feminist book club has read My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem, The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson, and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. What books would you recommend to Watson and her fellow readers for future selections?
