DC Comics announced that Wonder Woman #8 will serve as a one-shot interlude. This issue will feature an origin story on Wonder Woman’s nemesis, The Cheetah (a.k.a. Barbara Ann Minerva).
Greg Rucka has come on board to write the story. Bilquis Evely will create both the cover and interior art. DC Comics has set the release date for October 12.
Evely had this statement in the press release: “This story is very thoughtful and human and I’m trying to bring this to the pages as well. We visit a lot of different places and archaeological reference points, which means I get to have a lot of fun! I think the readers will never see Barbara Ann in the same way again, after what Greg has been doing here! This is a singular opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
