David McCullough Is Working on a New Book

David McCullough is working on a new book about the first settlers of the Northwest Territory called The Pioneers.

Simon & Schuster will publish the title in 2019. Jonathan Karp, president and publisher and Bob Bender, VP/executive editor of Simon & Schuster acquired world, audio and first serial rights to the title from Mort Janklow of Janklow & Nesbit Associates.

“Simon & Schuster has been proud to publish David McCullough’s work for fifty years, and we are delighted to be adding another American epic to our David McCullough library,” stated Karp. “The Pioneers is in the tradition of classics like The Great Bridge and 1776, for its portrait of unsung American heroes engaged in a great adventure that shaped our history. In this case, the story is told through three generations of extraordinary families that explored and settled the frontier.”
