Fox has hired David Leitch to serve as the director for Deadpool 2 film adaptation. The original director, Tim Miller, decided not to take on this project due to creative differences with actor Ryan Reynolds.
Here’s more from The Hollywood Reporter: “Leitch’s name surfaced just days after Miller’s exit, although the producers and studio had other filmmakers such as Rupert Sanders, Drew Goddard, and Magnus Martens on their to-meet list. Leitch met with Reynolds in New York and was offered the gig soon after.”
According to Deadline, the first Deadpool movie earned more than $782 million at the box office. Reynolds will return to play the “Merc with a Mouth” for Deadpool 2. The theatrical release for this sequel has been scheduled for March 2018. (via Collider)
