Rumors have been swirling for years about a Fight Club musical. Chuck Palahniuk, the author behind Fight Club, announced that he’s working on a rock opera based on his hit novel.
Indiewire reports that David Fincher, the filmmaker who helmed the Fight Club movie, and Julie Taymor, a renowned theatrical director, have both signed on for this project. Trent Reznor, the frontman of Nine Inch Nails and one of Fincher’s most frequent collaborators, will also be involved.
Recently, Jeff Goldsmith, the host behind The Q&A podcast, posted a tweet revealing that this theatrical production will be “an enhanced version of the film.” Besides this stage adaptation, Palahniuk has also been writing the story for the Fight Club 2 comic series. (via Mashable)
