Daniel Craig has signed on to star in an adaptation of Purity by Jonathan Franzen. In the past, this actor (pictured, via) has taken on roles in several book-inspired projects including The Adventures of Tintin movie, the American version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo movie, and several James Bond movies.
Farrar, Straus and Giroux, a division of Macmillan, released Franzen’s novel last year. The New York Times reports that a total of 20 episodes will be shot for Showtime’s limited television series.
According to USA Today, Todd Field has agreed to take the helm as the director. Scott Rudin will serve as one of the executive producers. Production is scheduled to begin in 2017. (via Deadline)
