Bestselling author Dan Brown has donated €300,000 to a library in The Netherlands in order to fund the preservation of its ancient texts.

The author of The Davinci Code researched some of his books at Amsterdam’s Ritman Library. Part of the funding will help create a digital library of the library’s rare books and texts. Reuters has the scoop:

The funding will be used to digitize part of the library’s rare collection of books and manuscripts about the Hermetic religious tradition that Brown referenced when writing “The Lost Symbol” and “Inferno”, it said in a statement.
