Comic book artist Steve Dillon, best known for Preacher, Judge Dread and The Punisher, has died.
According to a report in The New York Times, Dillon died after his appendix ruptured, which he had initially thought was food poisoning. He was 54 years old.
“Sad to confirm the death of Steve, my big brother and my hero. He passed away in the city he loved (NYC),” Dillon’s brother Glyn wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning. “He will be sorely missed. Cheers.”
In addition to his work as a comic book artist, Dillon was also the co-founder and editor of Deadline magazine.
