ABC News will feature Colleen Hoover and other “new adult” writers, but many fans of the genre are upset that the network called the genre “smut fiction” in a headline, despite the fact Hoover’s books do not include racy content. We’ve collected some Twitter complaints below…
Here’s an excerpt from the ABC News story: “And ‘New adult’ authors like Colleen Hoover are getting the rock star treatment. At a recent book-signing at A Real Bookstore in Fairview, Texas, fans drove hundreds of miles for a chance to meet her. A year ago, Hoover was a social worker, raising her three sons with her husband in a single-wide trailer.”
