CNET Publishes New Story From Joshua Mohr

By Dianna Dilworth

Tech news site CNET has published a new short story from Northern California Book Award winner Joshua Mohr

The news site has been expanding its literary endeavors. Last month, the site published the first-ever crowdsourced science fiction novel called, “Crowd Control.” The Mohr story is running on a new section of the site called Technically Literate, a new series of illustrated works of fiction that launched in March. Here is an excerpt from the story:

Believe you me, if you googled my full name, you’d see accolades mightier than Mount Rushmore. I don’t sell as many copies as the best sellers because my books are literary, meaning they’re for intellectuals. Problem is, most people are not intellectuals. Most people are mouth breathers. We’d discuss people’s stupidity at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop while drinking oolong tea. Most people don’t even know who Nabokov is! That’s sad. If I didn’t know ol’ Nabokov, I’d be inclined to put myself out of my uneducated misery.
