Bryan Lee O’Malley has signed a deal with the Penguin Random House imprint, Ballantine Books. He plans to write and illustrate a new graphic novel trilogy.
Entertainment Weekly reports that O’Malley (pictured, via) intends to create more than 300 pages of content for each installment. Book one will be called Worst World.
The story follows the relationship shared by protagonists Benny and Aubrey in modern day Los Angeles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Worst World will see O’Malley re-team with art assistant Jason Fischer and colorist Nathan Fairbairn — both of whom worked on latter volumes of Scott Pilgrim, as well as O’Malley’s subsequent graphic novel, Seconds.” (via Comic Book Resources)
