Brooklyn Public Library Locations Collecting Hurricane Sandy Donations

By Jason Boog

Beginning today (November 8) you can donate Hurricane Sandy relief supplies to 16 different Brooklyn Public Library locations. We’ve linked to the entire list of library locations below…

The Brooklyn Public Library has sent its intrepid bookmobiles to Coney Island and Red Hook this week, bringing supplies to residents hit hardest by the storm.

They need these donated items: bottled water, non-perishable foods, flashlights, batteries of all sizes, new blankets, new towels and wash cloths, new unopened packages of socks, thermals & underwear, hygiene products, toiletries, contractor garbage bags and heavy-duty extension cords, and cleaning supplies.

Here’s how to donate: “Donated supplies will only be accepted at the Central Library ‘s Lobby at least until the end of the week.  Tomorrow, the bookmobiles will leave Central Library at 10 am – so if possible please bring in donations no later than 9:45 am.  Depending on community response, additional locations may be added and the collection date may be extended.” (Via Dsaarinen)
