Brandan Robertson Loses Book Deal From Christian Publisher

By Maryann Yin

Brandan J. RobertsonBrandan Robertson lost his deal with Destiny Image for a book based on the content featured on his blog, Revangelical. According to a recent post, Robertson has already completed a manuscript for “a collection of memoir-essays that outlined some of the most important lessons that I have learned over the course of my spiritual journey thus far.”

In an interview with TIME.com, Robertson explained that the Christian publishing house terminated his contract because he would not say that he does “not condone, encourage or accept the homosexual lifestyle.” Robertson (pictured, via) identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community and has expressed his support for marriage quality.

Destiny Image claims that a number of the Christian bookstores refused to order his book. Without the support of these buyers, the company executives made a final decision based on concerns for “financial viability.” (via The Huffington Post)
