Barbra Streisand Lands Memoir Deal With Viking

Barbra Streisand (GalleyCat)Beloved singer and actress Barbra Streisand (pictured, via) has signed a memoir deal with Penguin Random House. The Viking imprint has set the publication date for 2017.

Robert Barnett, an entertainment lawyer at Williams & Connolly, represented Streisand throughout the negotiations process. Rick Kot, an executive editor, will edit the manuscript.

Publisher Brian Tart gave this statement in the press release: “Barbra Streisand’s memoir is the entertainment story that has been on the top of every publisher’s wish list for years. She has led one of the most fascinating and accomplished careers in show business. There are over fifty unauthorized biographies about Ms. Streisand that are full of myths and inaccuracies, and she is finally going to tell her own story.”
