Andy Muschietti May Direct an Adaptation of Stephen King’s It

Stephen King It (GalleyCat)Andy Muschietti may take the helm for a two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s It. Prior to this development, New Line Cinema had sought Cary Fukunaga to serve as the director.

Here’s more from The Hollywood Reporter: “It was to have started shooting in late June and a new start date remains unclear. Upon closing of Muschietti’s deal, New Line will begin a search for a new writer to tailor a script to Muschietti’s vision.”

Prior to this development, Will Poulter was cast to play the evil clown Pennywise. At this point, he may still take on the role but it has not been confirmed. (via TIME)
